We are actively seeking Slitter Operator to join our growing team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Must have a sound understanding of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and systems in place to insure food safety.

* Must attend New-Hire training and annual Refresher Training to stay updated with local, federal, regulatory, industry, internal food safety standards, requirements and changes.

* Must observe and follow all policies, practices, regulations, requirements, safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and systems.

* Proactively participate, offer and provide guidance and assistance to others in workflow process, procedures, projects and committees.

* Insure timely and accurate performance of responsibilities.

* Capable of working independently to meet scheduled demands.

* Capable of taking and following instructions with minimal direction.

* Continuously maintain a clean and orderly work area.

* Assure customer satisfaction through:

* Identifying, as an individual and as a member of a work unit, key internal and external customers.

* Determining these customers' needs and developing a means of measurement to ensure delivery of mutually agreed on product and service.

* Continuously striving to improve the performance of all key processes.

* Appropriate understanding of Prepress process and theory.

* Understanding of Color correcting in Photoshop for flexographic printing.

* Verify accuracy of job folder and slitting report.

* Convert mill rolls to individual rolls meeting customer specifications, (label width and label bleed).

* Inspection of material and removal of defects.

* Run roll size (0. D., label count) to customer specifications.

* Select skid size based on customer requirements.

* Select proper core size (I.D.) and cut cores to customer specified width.

* Select best possible sample to be sent to customer for approval.

* Communicate with supervisor and the Quality Assurance Department concerning print quality.

* Complete core tags.

* Complete slitting reports detailing label count.

* Complete rewind reports.

* Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


* Basic math, reading, and writing skills.

* Knowledge of 4 color process for flexographic printing.

* Expert level of knowledge with graphics application Adobe Illustrator.

* Expert level of knowledge oflayout, type, and color.

* Ability to lift 50 lbs.

* Ability to distinguish colors.

* Fork truck operators' certificate when applicable.

* Functional Requirements/Strength and Agility testing with lower back assessment, (LBA)

* Vision corrected to discern fine details and ability to distinguish subtle color variations (matching color to standard)

Education and / or Experience

High School diploma or GED. Two to five years of manufacturing experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
