Purpose

To perform routine scheduling assignments, which require the selection and application of resource monitoring principles, techniques, and technical knowledge of construction projects. To perform tasks related to the collection and evaluation of data required to monitor project schedules.

Formally responsible for providing input into policies associated with the job's purpose and essential responsibilities.

Routine Decision Making / Problem Solving

Incumbent must decide if the schedule accurately represents the project plan.

Incumbent must decide what possible scenarios may impact the schedule.

Incumbent must decide what the status is of all critical path work.

Incumbent must decide what recommendations can be made to eliminate or minimize schedule over-runs.

Incumbent must possess a thorough working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Scheduling applications (MS Project, Primavera, Viewpoint, Immpower)

Incumbent must understand how to commit resources between a variety of tasks.

Incumbent must possess knowledge of planning and scheduling construction projects in heavy industrial construction (i.e. refineries and coal fired power plants.

Required skills or abilities

Incumbent must be highly detail-oriented.

Incumbent must be excellent at working without close supervision.

Incumbent must be excellent at communicating complex subjects to non-users.

Formal education

Junior college/two year college training

Experience

3 to 5 years

Unusual Working Conditions, if any

Amount of travel reguired is 50-60% - limited to local project sites.

Physical Requirements: Sitting for long periods of time; viewing a computer monitor for long periods; typing on a keyboard; and, the ability to enter confined spaces, climb, and wear appropriate personnel protection.
