Ag Processing Inc (AGP) is seeking a driven and talented Electrical Engineer to join our growing team at our corporate office in Omaha, NE. This role is responsible for supporting engineering, operations, and production teams to oversee or assist with projects and/or continued facility operation. Emphasis will be related to electrical, power (medium to low voltage), controls, control systems, and instrumentation design and implementation. In addition, this person will be responsible for general project development and management duties such as analyzing, supporting, and coordinating engineering projects from concept through completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update and maintain AGP’s standard electrical, controls, and instrumentation specifications.
  • Assist other AGP project managers on projects concerning the electrical, controls, and instrumentation aspects of their projects.
  • Create conceptual electrical designs based on project requirements.
  • Determine adequacy of existing electrical and controls infrastructure to support planned projects. Develop solutions if the existing infrastructure cannot support the project.
  • Assist in conceptual cost estimates to support payback calculations.
  • Coordinate with outside engineering firms/contractors in developing the project’s electrical, controls, communication, and instrumentation design.
  • Review electrical submittals and drawings to ensure they meet AGP specifications and the project requirements.
  • Review equipment and material submittals and coordinate instrumentation requirements with supplied process equipment.
  • Complete drawings, including general arrangements, flow diagrams, and site plans to support project work.
  • Build bid packages with adequate supporting documentation to ensure complete and comparable bids can be received on projects.
  • Perform on-site monitoring and coordination of project construction activities with ongoing plant operations.
  • Provide onsite support for project checkout, commissioning, and startup; and ensuring as-built documentation reflects as-built conditions.
  • Conduct field investigations of existing facilities and document as-built conditions to assist in project development.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology with emphasis in electricity/electronics or related technical experience
  • Preferably a minimum of 3-5 years of project engineering and/or project management experience or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design, construction, controls, instrumentation, automation, and engineering practices and procedures. In-depth knowledge and use of the National Electric Code.
  • Familiarity of construction and engineering practices and procedures as well as general industry regulations and practices.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and documentation standards.
  • Strong analytical thinking, negotiating, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple work assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Aptitude to make sound decisions with available information along with ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Must be willing and able to travel 15%-25% of the time.
