Serves as a full-performance level Human Resources Assistant in the OKC Shared Service Center.

Work is performed utilizing the Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS) to input and process a wide variety of personnel and payroll actions. Incumbent researches, interprets and applies a variety of regulations, policies and laws pertaining to pay and leave, veterans preference, USERRA, workers compensation, bargaining unit agreements, and settlements.

Receives a wide variety of payroll and personnel related actions and documents, reviews them for accuracy and completeness, processes actions, and enters or updates data into an electronic system. Work involves communicating with a variety of customers, both internal and external, that includes the regional Human Resource Services Division staffs, Employee and Labor Relations staffs, Aviation Careers, customers across Lines of Business, and Department of Interior. Customer contact is for the purpose of gathering and researching information to respond to inquiries and resolve problems and issues related to personnel and payroll functions.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: timekeeping support, changes to employee work schedules, union dues initiation/revocation, Voluntary Leave Transfer Program (VLTP), Employee Express assistance, new hire and employee generated information (taxes, addresses, bonds, etc.), OWCP leave buy-back coordination, back pays, EEO settlements, negotiated settlement payments, Thrift Savings Plan deductions and changes, and processing CFC forms. Also, responsible for processing a broad range of personnel actions to include accessions, separations, position and pay changes, service/pay calculation computations, retirements, consolidations, and benefits. Incumbent may also be assigned special projects.

Incumbent must apply federal personnel and payroll guidelines, regulations, rules and policies in order to ensure the accurate and timely processing of actions and payment of FAA employees. Duties are performed under the general direction of a team lead. Follows established policies and procedures when performing tasks; however, is allowed some discretion to select the most appropriate approaches to accomplish work. Refers unique or unusual problems and issues to team lead for assistance and guidance in resolving

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-D (FG/GS 3-6) in the Federal Service.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience may include but not limited to: experience applying personnel rules; regulations; procedures and policies governing the processing of personnel actions to include coding; pay-setting; conducting quality reviews; benefits entitlement; veteran's preference; files/records maintenance; experience with automated HR Information Systems.
