Job Description

Warbird Consulting Partners is seeking a FULL TIME PERMANENT Billing and Follow-up Supervisor to coordinate the day-to-day billing and follow-up team activities within the revenue operations for an assigned Patient Business Services (PBS) or CBO location. This role will motivate the team and work to achieve the highest levels to meet the organization goals. These are new opportunities as a health system has decided to open a Central Business Office in Ohio.

Key responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Provides hands on supervison of daily activities as part of the billing and follow-up team in support of the revenue cycle process for an assigned location
  • Coordinate assigned tasks of billing and follow up within colleagues
  • Monitors timeliness of claims billed, paid/settled, and reviews documentation in appropriate system(s)
  • Ensures colleagues carry out duties and responsibilities in an effective manner, which in turn promotes maximized reimbursement based upon services delivered
  • Identifies and implements solutions to problems and issues affecting accurate billing and follow-up activities
  • Focuses efforts of colleagues on proactive practices, which includes contacting payors directly for payments due on accounts and reviewing and responding to all mail correspondence in a timely and efficient manner
  • Identifies and participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives across the billing and follow- up team and other functional areas in order to streamline processes
  • Participates in the redesign of billing processes and systems to improve service, data integrity, and staff productivity/quality to achieve departmental goals and process outcomes
  • Review and track trends, prepare service level reports and metrics, and make recommendations for new hiring

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associates degree required
  • 3 years experience in revenue cycle functions in a hospital or clinic environment, a health insurance company, managed care organization, or other health care financial service setting
  • +3-5 years experience performing medical claims processing, financial counseling, financial clearance, accounting or customer service activities
  • Strong understanding on Microsoft Office; including Outlook, Excel, and Word/Power Point
  • Ability to work independently and attentive to details
