This role will create quotations and technical proposals based on inquiries generated by outside sales, incoming calls/emails, walk-ins, or vendors.

Responsibilities of the Pump Applications Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare proposals within customer deadlines using vendor software, sales catalogs and cost estimates according to technical and performance requirements.
  • Aid in the design and development of equipment and systems, and redesign of existing systems when necessary.
  • Articulate technical features of products and assist customers in proper selection and sizing. Work closely with sales, fabrication and vendors to facilitate the sales effort and meet customer requirements.
  • Assist outside sales with our packaged solutions and technical engineering questions when necessary.
  • Proficient with CAD/SolidWorks to support and execute final documentation of projects.
  • Understanding of ASME piping and pressure vessel codes and standards.
  • Provide direction to mechanics, electricians, and other staff disciplines to support projects and maintenance efforts.
  • Understanding of maintenance best practices and asset management including tribology, vibration, thermography, ultrasonic, and other PT&I techniques.
  • Provide maintenance reliability support to rotating equipment including compressors and various types of pumps such as H-Pumps, ANSI, P/D, Progressive Cavity, Rotary Lobe, API 610, Vertical Turbine, etc.
  • Review equipment failures and recommend corrective actions (RCFA).
  • Initiate and manage maintenance related projects to improve reliability.
  • Work with outside vendors on repairs and assist in overseeing offsite equipment repairs.
  • Check inventory and delivery matrix in our accounting software to ensure proposal recommendations match the customer’s expectations.
  • Email quotes and technical proposals to the customer and/or the outside sales rep and cc management and the vendor if applicable.
  • Enter all pertinent information into Quote Logs/CRM daily including the proposal, follow up dates, future actions, sales cycle, % to close, etc.
  • Complete order forms and pass on to shop for processing and scheduling.
  • Provide relevant updates to customer, outside sales, vendor, and management whenever applicable.
  • Assist in creating case studies, white papers, website content, literature, vendor app/portal, etc.
  • Participate and assist in lunch and learns, training sessions, sales calls, and webinars whenever needed.

Qualifications of the Pump Applications Engineer, but are not limited to:

  • 5+ years of Application/Inside Sales experience related to Pumps/Rotating Equipment applications.
  • Preferred knowledge of H-Pumps, ANSI, Positive Displacement, Progressive Cavity, Rotary Lobe, API 610, Vertical Turbine, other fluid handling equipment & fabricated pumping systems.
  • Must be able to work independently to achieve targeted results.
  • Well-organized & self-motivated.
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Effective negotiating and time management skills.
  • Project management experience and team work skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Possesses integrity, strong work ethic, positive attitude and a team player.

Shift Time/Overtime: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
