Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing, inventory control, warehousing, and distributing raw materials, supplies and finished goods; and planning flow of manufacturing processes by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. The position will be located in Ocala, Fl. Relocation assistance will be available.


* Prepares instructions regarding purchasing, planning, warehousing, shipping, and receiving systems and procedures.

* Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices.

* Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports.

* Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy. Establishes and maintains vendor performance measurements.

* Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.

* Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirement

* Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.

* Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Serves as liaison between Sales and Operations to provide adequate communication regarding delivery status and delinquencies.

* Coordinates Shipping and Traffic activities to ensure timely delivery of product in cost effective manner.

* Prepares production reports.

* Prepares lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.

* Manages raw materials and finished goods inventory to achieve optimum inventory turns.

* Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.

* Identifies and qualifies potential vendors for outsourced product and components.

* Manages and modifies ERP and other support systems to provide accurate reporting for daily operations management.

* Directly supervises 8 to 10 employees in Purchasing and Planning. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

* Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.



* Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
