Technical Architect

The SEI Wealth Platform (the Platform) is an outsourcing solution for wealth managers encompassing wealth processing services and wealth management programs, combined with business process expertise. With the Platform, SEI provides wealth management organizations with the infrastructure, operations, and administrative support necessary to capitalize on their strategic objectives in a constantly shifting market. The SEI Wealth Platform supports trading and transactions on 156 stock exchanges in 55 countries and 43 currencies, through the use of straight-through processing and a single operating infrastructure environment.

This position will lead performance discipline throughout software development lifecycle to analyze business requirements and customer preferences, and recommend best performance practices in working with various scrum delivery teams.

As a Performance Architect, you are someone who is passionate about innovative technology specifically performance engineering tools, performance profiling, web/mobile and database performance real-time monitoring and tools.

The Technical Architect is a leadership role, responsible for ensuring the use of common SEI architecture patterns and best practices and providing direction to the systems architects and scrum teams.

* Ensure quality for our customers by validating Performance, Stability, Scalability, and Reliability for all of our scrum initiatives

* Ensure validations are in place for the proper level of instrumentation and monitoring to proactively detect performance and scalability

* Design and Develop automated Performance, Stability, Scalability, and Reliability tests

* Discover thresholds and data impact on delivery

* Participate in the constant improvement of our Performance Test Automation practices

* Architect and develop in-house owned customized tools to facilitate and enhance Performance Testing

* Testing at the System, Sub-System, and Component level

* Gain a technical and functional understanding of our product architecture and become part of the ongoing improvement of the performance of our enterprise application

* Work proactively with members of an Agile team to find and fix defects in our product architecture

* Analyze defects / test results and be able to deduct the chain of events leading to a failure

* Communicate critical issues and status updates in a timely manner to Agile teams

* Mentor technical resources on performance best practices

* Deep understanding of Application Performance Monitoring and

* Ability to develop predictive and prescriptive solutions in the big data arena including data wrangling, visualization, machine learning a plus

Position Requirements

* BA/BS, in a related technical field; or the equivalent in education and work experience.

* A minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology.

* A minimum of 7 years of experience in object-oriented design and programming methodologies; Java, JavaScript, Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), SQL.

* Ability to identify performance bottlenecks from issues – complement development team in speedy analysis/root cause of performance issues is preferred.

* Ability to lead performance optimization efforts with a strong command of complex performance issues and the ability to direct component owners is a plus

* Oracle Database & WebLogic performance tuning expertise

* Knowledge of Performance trouble shooting (heap dump & thread dump analysis) is preferred.

* Experience effectively interacting with large development and delivery teams and application development managers who are providing full lifecycle application support in complex, heterogeneous environments

* Strong understanding of SAFe

* Displays Servant Leadership Skills

* Demonstrated bias for action

* Position may require domestic and international travel.

Preferred Skills:

* Experience in wealth management, investment processing, domestic and international Equity and / or Fixed Income workflows and analytics

* Portfolio Management, Auto Loss Harvesting, Tax Managed Investment, Settlement System, Order Processing, Custody Services, Reconciliation, Corporate Action, Currency Processing

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
