The Occupational Therapist II provide services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate the needs of individuals who are mentally or physically challenged. Such services encompass evaluation and treatment approaches which are provided to maximize an individual's functional independence in work, play, and daily tasks. Functions as a member of the Rehabilitation Team. Persons served range from adolescence to late adulthood (in Acute Care), and from adulthood (early) to late adulthood in the Skilled Nursing Unit program. In addition to the minimum qualifications and essential job functions, each employee shall meet established age and skill specific competencies. Skill competencies requiring additional development will be identified in the first year of employment and addressed annually in the employee's performance plan.
Education: Graduate of an Occupational Therapy program from an accredited AMA/AOTA curriculum with either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
Experience: 3 years experience in a comparable setting.
Licensure and Certification: Current California OT license, required. National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred. Current CPR (BLS) certification, required. Current member of a professional organization of OT or relevant clinical area, preferred.
Physical Requirements: Strength and coordination necessary for lifting patients, pushing wheelchairs, gurneys and beds. See attached “Physical work Conditions checklist“ for specific physical requirements.
