Production Planner

Seeking a Production Planner to aid in the success of an established (but growing!) company in the North West suburbs near Northbrook. REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-8 years’ experience
  • Experience managing multiple sites
  • Food distribution/manufacturing experience
  • SAP experience
  • APICs or similar certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excel proficiency a must
  • General cost accounting knowledge

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work cross functionally with IT, Customer Service, Sales, Quality Assurance and Supply Chain
  • Conduct evaluations and develop goals for team members on a semi-annual basis
  • Engage with upper-level management and communicate any issues or concerns
  • Liase between Plant Management and Corporate to ensure targets are being met and activity aligns with company goals
  • Design and coordinate weekly Master Production Schedule including capacity, output assumption, and schedule downtime
  • Manage the product lifecycle
  • Travel 50% in the first year, traveling to 3 out-of-state facilities. Travel decreases to about 25% thereafter
  • Be a primary resource to address supply availability and shipping concerns for client orders
  • Lead a daily call during packing season; communicating with Procurement, Procurement, and Planning Teams
  • Track, manage, and monitor KPIs; manage performance levels to ensure customer satisfaction and attractive inventory goals
