Air Traffic Control Electronic Systems Technician

Key Role:

Perform the most complex electronic or mechanical functions to support development engineering activities for aviation ground electronics systems and various communications equipment. Design, test, checkout, fabricate, and modify the assembly of electronics and air traffic control systems. Operate assigned tools and equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

* 6 years of experience with electronics repair, maintenance, and checkout of electronic systems

* 4 years of experience with air traffic control equipment and systems, including communications, navigation, RADAR, or meteorology systems

* Knowledge of computer networking principles, installation standards, shop practices and tools, and troubleshooting methods

* Ability to perform installation tasks, including making or repairing and soldering cables or connectors

* Ability to assist with the development of equipment layout and placement, cabling design, and fabricating panels and bulkheads

* Ability to obtain a security clearance

* HS diploma or GED

* Formal electronics training from a Class A or B Military School in Electronics or Communications or Commercial Technical School

Additional Qualifications:

* Ability to travel 25% of the time

* Ability to work in confined spaces or climb towers for 5% of the time

* Navigational or RADAR Systems Qualification
