American Systems is seeking a Senior Marine Engineering Technician. This position will:

* Provide engineering, technical and administrative oversight for Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division Diesel Code 421.

* Support the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) in providing waterfront diesel support for LSD 41/49 class ships. Will require providing administrative and shipboard program support as required actions for execution during inport and underway phases.

* The position requires accessing and utilizing Navy databases, developing and reviewing written technical reports, developing and managing Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM), and liaising with the Diesel ISEA, technical community, and US Navy personnel.

* The position requires CONUS and OCONUS travel to include underway periods onboard U.S. Navy ships (approx. 10-20%).

* Responsible for product technical accuracy; issue resolution; providing and maintaining the Diesel Readiness System (DRS) and Diesel Maintenance Strategy (DMS) engineering and technical support for US Navy ships.

* Provide lead waterfront support for LSD 41/49 Class Colt-Pielstick, 16 PC 2.5V, and Fairbanks Morse Engines Opposed Piston Model 12-38ND 8 1/8

* Provide Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division and US Navy Fleet (Atlantic) engineering and administrative support in program management.

* Liaison with U.S. Navy Fleet support echelons such as NAVSEA Technical Warrant Holders, Port Engineers, Afloat Training Group, INSURV, Readiness Assist Teams, Regional Maintenance Centers, and Amphibious Squadron staffs

Job Requirements

* BS in Marine or Mechanical Engineering, with preference given to Marine Engineering

* At least 4 years of experience in the development and technical review of Diesel Engine technical documentation: technical manuals, planned maintenance, depot level maintenance standards, and operational procedures

* Preference will be given to personnel that are USCG Licensed Marine Engineers with sailing experience or personnel who have experience with US Navy diesel system or propulsion plant inspections/assessments (i.e. Builders/Acceptance/Final Contract Trials, DEBA, etc)

* Must have an active Secret security clearance

* Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Power Point and Excel and preferably Project and Access

* Advanced Administrative skills
