Loan Operations Specialist - Bar Harbor Bank and Trust is seeking to fill a full-time Loan Operations Specialist. The position may be based in Newport, NH or Ellsworth, ME. General responsibilities include performing a variety of duties in support of all bank loan products including but not limited to file maintenance, research and data entry. Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers. Answers questions and responds to requests with proper etiquette through email and telephone within established timelines. Assists other employees within the department to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner. Assists with training new employees and co-workers. Helps build and maintain relationships with branches and bank departments.

Knowledge, Ability, and Skills Required:

* A high school diploma or equivalent.

* Previous banking experience is preferred. Demonstrated professional customer relation and communication skills.

* The ability to receive and understand oral questions and written instructions and apply them to assigned job responsibilities.

* The ability to analyze, interpret findings and results, and to draw logical conclusions in carrying out day-to-day assignments.

* The flexibility to learn and keep current with changing procedures and regulations, varying job assignments, technological advances and new equipment.

* The ability to work as a positive team member in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and to manage multiple assignments.

* Working knowledge of windows based software programs is required.

Major Responsibilities:

* Daily Secondary Market Reporting

* Boarding Residential, HELOC and HE Loans

* Process all residential loans closing packages; including but not limited to scanning documents, pulling critical documents, preparing folders and filing.

* Process all HELOC/HE Loans closing packages, sending recording to registry's and/or town clerks. Including but not limited to scanning documents, pulling critical documents, preparing folders and filing.

* Paid Residential/HELOC/HE Loan processing for NH & VT Offices

* Act as a backup for various duties for vacations and busy times

* Process all types of maintenance for various types of loan accounts;

* Perform data entry for all types of loan accounts;

* Perform customer research as requested by branches or bank departments;

* Assist branches and bank departments with loan related questions and issues;

* Identify, review and ensure compliance with the laws and regulations which affect assigned functional areas.
