Job Description

The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will report to the Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) Manager as part of the HII Office of the CIO. The BRM will be responsible for developing and maintaining the strategic interface with the HII Corporate office business areas for the purpose of Cybersecurity & IT business strategy development, solution discovery, relationship management, demand management, and risk management by:

  • Serving as a “trusted advisor” and key point of contact for business stakeholders
  • Actively promoting IT vision, value, services, and capabilities; Define scope, requirement and or capability required
  • Acting as a business advocate to ensure IT services meet their business priorities and needs
  • Providing valued strategic consulting, guidance, and support
  • Facilitating and serving as a lead for the planning and initiation of efforts to enable the achievement of business objectives through the effective use of technology
  • Communicating decisions, priorities, and relevant information to appropriate levels of staff regarding opportunities, initiatives, and requests
  • Working with peers to understand breadth of opportunity in an effort to maximize value of investments
  • Identifying opportunities to improve business processes through technology, system, and non-system
  • Assisting with capturing and measuring the value received from actual changes

  • Must be self-directed, engaged and follow through on commitments
  • Must have experience providing strategic and operational planning as well as coordinating with cross-functional teams, executive leadership, and external partners.
  • Fosters a collaborative environment within Cybersecurity & IT and the business departments
  • Ability to communicate clearly, negotiate, listen, mitigate conflict, build alliances, and achieve desired results using strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills
  • Some background in industrial manufacturing
  • Effect communication skills at all levels, including oral, written, presentation and briefing others
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis; Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
  • Ability to lead all aspects of Business case development for IT investments and planning purposes

Basic Qualifications

14 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field; 12 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree; 9 years of relevant professional experience with a PhD.
