External Job Description

This position is for a Space Arrangement Lead assigned to monitor the spatial design development for an assigned non-nuclear and non-propulsion portion of the CVN 78 Class Aircraft Carrier. Responsibilities include the following: Ensure the design zones are on schedule and within budget, that all disciplines are aware of their responsibilities, and that the spatial requirements of the ship are met. Coordinate design zone interfaces with other space arrangement leads. Coordinate and arbitrate the resolution of arrangement problems that cannot be resolved between system compositors. Monitor the development of assigned design zones, and provide compositors direction for modifications required to optimize the space arrangement and meet spatial requirements. Ensure all spatial requirements, such as design clearances, are at the level required for exiting each phase of design development in accordance with schedule and budget constraints. Provide roll-up status of the development of assigned design zones to the space management organization. Develop presentations and packages required to validate space arrangement, including customer (NAVSEA) validation. Ensure that all design discipline arrangements are matured on the same schedule within the design zone to prevent rework.

Basic Qualifications

Associate's Degree and 3 years of experience. 2 years of related experience can be substituted for Associate's degree. 4 years of non-related experience can be substituted for Associate's degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Associate's degree.
