Job Description

The Mfg Quality Engineer (QE) is primarily responsible for supporting the production line by ensuring parts, assemblies and products meet or exceed expected quality levels, resolves non-conformances in a timely and effective manner when they occur, and pursues continuous process improvement activities.

The QE works cross functionally with Operations and Engineering to continuously improve quality for key system components, assemblies, and products by implementing process controls and implementing effective quality assurance plans.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Extensive experience driving quality issues to closure concerning electrical or electro-mechanical components or assemblies in a production environment.

* Ability to lead and assist in solving technical issues.

* Develop positive relationships and effective lines of communication with internal functions for accomplishment of tasks

* Good track record of ISO 9001 leadership by assisting Quality Manager in managing site ISO 9001 efforts including performing audits, managing internal audit schedules, and associated corrective actions and follow ups.

* Participate as a member of the Material Review Board as necessary to review and disposition related Nonconformance Material Reports as required.

* Develop process for periodic gathering quality-related Production KPI metrics and maintain such metrics. Develop and lead associated corrective action efforts.

* Track record of effectively using quality tools and continuous improvement techniques to help reduce variability and defective product to meet and exceed quality goals.

* Ability to assess process weaknesses and track record in leading process improvement teams for QMS improvement.

The Individual

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

* BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial preferred). Equivalent relevant experience may be considered for applicants not meeting education requirement.

* Minimum 5 years experience as a Quality Engineer working with manufacturing, and suppliers concerning electrical and electromechanical assemblies.

* Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.
