The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for assisting the Store Manager with day-to-day operations, product placement, client service, achieving sales goals, and loss prevention.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be the driving force behind the ALEX AND ANI message of positive energy
  • Expert on product knowledge by keeping current on all new collections as well as core product lines to assist customers
  • Operate cash registers, manage financial transactions, and balance drawers
  • Maximizing profitability and setting/meeting sales targets, including motivating staff to do so
  • Consistently achieve customer satisfaction, sales, productivity, payroll and expense goals
  • Assist in the execution of ad set and visual merchandising standards
  • Communicates all Retail Communication and HR Communication memos to team
  • Consistently upholds a neat, clean and organized store and stockroom
  • Assist in visual presentation standards and ensure the store is replenished at all times
  • Maintain compliance with Retail Operations Policy and Procedures
  • Participate in and lead open and close procedures
  • Manage merchandise processing, including tracking of company assets through inventory control
  • Assist with staff scheduling and training development
  • Assist with the protection of all company assets, controlling internal and external loss

Travel

  • This position requires limited travel (0-25%)

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of Retail Sales experience
  • Two years of management experience
  • Excellent communication, delegation, follow-up, and time-management skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task and direct activities at all levels
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the needs of the business
  • Maintain a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to motivate sales teams
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • The ability to read, write, and perform basic math
  • The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
