Supervisory Paralegal

CGS is seeking an experienced Supervisory Paralegal to join a fast moving, extremely active in-house legal team with a federal agency. This position is a key role related to supporting various aspects of the company's litigation portfolio including eDiscovery activities, workflow management, and attorney support. This would be a full-time position with CGS and would include full benefits. This position is also remote but will require some days in office on a case-by-case basis.

Job Duties

Works with Division management, trial attorneys, and Division paralegals to manage tasks for Senior Paralegals.

Designs searches for privileged, responsive, or relevant documents using the advanced analytic tools available through the Divisions document review platforms.

Interfaces with the Divisions Litigation Support Section to coordinate on the technical/data processing aspects of matters.

Reviews and analyzes documents, transcripts, files, and other materials for responsiveness and to locate information and evidence relevant to investigative actions or responsive to requests for production, interrogatories, requests for admissions, and other discovery requests.

Identifies possibly privileged documents and reviews and prepares privilege logs.

Uses electronic databases and other electronic means to perform litigation support tasks, including reviewing, organizing, indexing, tagging, and summarizing documents, files, and other materials. Conducts database searches for documents and information.

Assists attorneys in preparing for, and conducting, depositions and interviews with investigative sources, expert witnesses, and prospective fact witnesses.

Assists attorneys with all phases of civil litigation, including pretrial investigations and discovery, motions, hearings, trials, and appeals.

Job Requirements:

  • Requires paralegal certificate
  • Three years of litigation paralegal experience, including trial experience
  • At least one year of experience in automated litigation support
  • Must have supervisory experience, including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
  • Familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources preferred
