Job summary

We are looking for a talented sports media strategist who is passionate about applying strategic, analytical, data-driven thinking to drive crucial business decisions for sports content in Prime Video outside the United States. The Sports Team within Prime Video brings selection of live sports content to Amazon customers around the world. Among other exciting events, we have streamed English Premiere League, UEFA Champions League, Roland Garros, and NFL Thursday Night Football for Prime members, and offered Ligue 1 through Prime Video Channels.

Key job responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Build expertise in the media and sports rights landscape for a range of countries and regions
  • Have broad understanding of what data is available in various markets (television, digital/social, etc.) and curiosity/creativity to triangulate multiple sources to derive insights
  • Analyze and organize data, focusing on key metrics in support of prioritizing content and executing deal evaluations
  • Identify and develop insights from data, forming clear and impactful recommendations to inform business actions
  • Evaluate business models, and build business cases and detailed projections related to acquisition, distribution, and monetization of sports content
  • Maintain and expand tracking of sports rights availability
  • Benchmark activity and drive insights regarding sports content distributors
  • Write updates and deep dive documents for senior leadership

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree

· 5+ years relevant experience in financial/business analysis

· Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

· Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

· Experience in SQL

· Experience with Microsoft Excel

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy consulting or investment banking/equity research covering the media industry, media industry market research, or a similar analytical role within the media industry
  • Avid sports fan with inherent familiarity with major sports leagues, teams, and athletes

Preffered Qualifications

  • Experience using television viewership and streaming video reporting, in the US and ex-US
  • Experience developing and executing quantitative market research projects
  • Proven record of excellent analytical thinking
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • Self-starter who is customer obsessed, detail-oriented, curious, and an enthusiastic team player
