For more than 125 years, Experian has unlocked the power of data to create opportunities for consumers and businesses. Today, we have an opportunity for a smart, motivated, talented Senior Editor to help grow our content operation.

We're looking for someone with strong editing, reporting, and writing chops, along with stellar news judgment, and a passion for storytelling. The editor will be expected to generate story ideas, bring in new writers, assign and edit a broad spectrum of content types, and mentor both staff writers and outside contributors -- including our own in-house experts.

Responsibilities:

* Conceptualize, assign and edit daily news-driven features and longer-term features.

* Work with the Editor-in-Chief to help shape Experian's larger content strategy

* Coordinate with other senior editors on editorial planning and scheduling

* Work on special projects, and multimedia storytelling

* Report, write, and produce as needed

* Hire and manage freelancers and contributors

* Coordinate with internal experts at Experian business units

* Track KPIs for core content verticals, including:

oTraffic and engagement (time spent)

oNewsletter signups

oSocial engagement

* At least 5 years of reporting and editing experience, preferably online

* Demonstrated knowledge and interest in personal finance topics such as credit scores, identity protection/cybersecurity, credit cards, and personal loans.

* Commitment to mentoring staff writers and SMEs who aren't journalists by training.

* Experience in long-form editing and multimedia journalism.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities and deadlines

* Comfort with technology, social media, and digital tools for journalism

* Superior organizational skills and obsessive attention to details

* Ability to work independently, demonstrate good personal judgment, and exercise a commitment to ethical conduct.

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.

* Demonstrated poise, tact, diplomacy, and the ability to interact with individuals across the organization.

* Bachelor's degree required, ideally in Journalism or related field.
