Job Title: Sr. Compensation Analyst

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Senior Compensation Analyst assumes a lead role in recommending and implementing best practice compensation policies, programs and initiatives, including grading/classification systems, incentive reward and retention programs and related programs. This individual maintains the integrity of salary and HRIS data through careful monitoring of data entry and audits. Responsible for the audit of data to ensure compliance with federal, state and/or federal laws and regulations, as well as Mount Sinai Health System policies and procedures. He/she serves as a mentor to less experienced staff and contributes to the development and deployment of compensation related training programs throughout the organization.

* Analyzes department requests for job classification and compensation review. Communicates and consults with departments and employees to discuss classification and compensation recommendations, procedures and interpretation of policies and regulations.

* Works strategically and collaboratively with internal business partners to facilitate all compensation processes and wage and salary administration including new hire offers, job classification and career ladders.

* Coordinates and conducts complex internal and external third party market analysis.

* Researches and collects data for special projects, reports and management studies covering a range of compensation and classification matters. Analyzes and interprets results. Collects information needed to respond to salary surveys. Collects, analyzes and manipulates salary data using computerized methods.

* Maintains integrity of position and salary data and compensation transactions through accurate data entry, monitoring and auditing of position control, bargaining unit, and processing operations. Assists in the resolution of wage and salary discrepancies.

* Gathers information to assist with recommendations for the development and implementation of human resources policies, procedures and programs related to compensation and classification. Maintains contemporary knowledge of trends, topics relative to the profession and shares best practice knowledge with colleagues and customers.

* Contributes to the development and deployment of plans for projects, initiatives and in-service and institutional training.

* Assists in the day-to-day operations as assigned, such as coordinating workflow, mentoring and/or leading groups and initiatives; represents the department/unit on organization-wide committees or work groups.

* Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion in discussing compensation issues with supervisors and managers.

* Performs other related duties.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Industrial Relations or closely related field.

* 5-8 years in compensation in a similarly large and complex organization.

* World at Work Certified Compensation Professional designation preferred.

* Excellent written, oral and presentation skills

* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills

* Knowledge of compensation principles, practices and standards and methods and processes for collecting, analyzing, interpreting and reporting data

* Knowledge of labor laws and regulations that impact compensation and related issues such as Equal Pay Act, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
