Resident Engineer

HAKS New York, NY

We are currently seeking a Resident Engineer (10 years of experience) to manage large-scale rail/transit construction projects in the New York/New Jersey area. Candidate must have 10 plus years of experience managing construction projects as a Resident Engineer or Project Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Ensure work is performed in accordance with contract documents.

* Coordinate work with multiple stakeholders at active facilities.

* Review and approve requisitions and invoices.

* Manage change orders and cost controls efficiently.

* Maintain excellent relationships with clients, architects/engineers and subconsultants


* Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.

* Licensed Professional Engineer in NY or NJ.

* Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Construction Experience working with Amtrak and/or experience on the Northeast Corridor (NEC) will be very favorably considered.

* Management of large rail/transit projects.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Strong client relationship skills.

* Experience working with public agencies such as New Jersey Transit, New York City Transit, MTA, Port Authority of NY & NJ, etc.

* Effective leadership for managing and/or coordinating trades and mentoring on-site staff.

* Broad knowledge and experience working with project costs and budgets.

* Strong computer skills -- proficiency in Expedition, Prolog, P3 and Constuctware a big plus.

* Valid Drivers License and clean MVR.
