Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group (MCPG) is seeking a Marketing Assistant to join our dynamic team and play an important role in helping execute creative and successful advertising campaigns. The candidate will provide administrative and project-based support to the team while working on a selection of titles, including picture books, middle grade, young adult and graphic novels across all imprints of MCPG. The Marketing Assistant will report to the Associate Director of Marketing.
What you will do:
Provide administrative and creative support to the department
Maintain organization of department, including data entry, invoicing, filing, mailings, ad reservations and more
Manage weekly and monthly meetings, including scheduling, document creation, reporting, and note-taking
Assist with the creation of consumer, trade, and institutional advertisements, including gathering art, writing copy, trafficking passes, and proofreading
Document and store all stages of each project maintaining detailed excel grids
Assist with the execution and optimization of self-service advertising campaigns
Help analyze advertising data to gain in-depth insight to campaign performance
Assist with social media and newsletter marketing initiatives as needed
Help brainstorm new ways to reach consumers, booksellers, librarians, and educators
Present campaign plans to publishers and sales force when necessary
Proofread copy for accuracy and adherence to grammatical guidelines, as well as proofing metadata

Experience/Education Needed:
Experience and/or keen interest in children’s book publishing is preferred
PC skills, especially Excel a must. MAC skills a plus
Design experience, specifically Adobe Design Suite a plus
Ideal candidate should have publishing, advertising, or marketing industry experience which may include internships
Bachelor’s degree required (English, Advertising, Marketing, or Publishing Program preferred)
