THIS IS A PAID POSITION!

The Job Developer initiates job development strategies to assist program participants in achieving their vocational goals; networks with non-profits that provide employment opportunities; develops job opportunities in the private sector; and maintains relationships with employers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The position requires a bachelor's degree and two years experience developing employment opportunities with the New York City business community, strong communication and presentation skills, and computer literacy.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Establish relationships with private-sector and non-profit employers.

* Develop marketing materials for programs.

* Make presentations to potential employers.

* Develop job-search database using traditional and non-traditional employment sources.

* Prepare participants for employment through job-readiness workshops and sessions in resume-writing and interviewing skills.

* Maintain client records.

* Develop internships and job-training opportunities.

* Work with employers and program participants to ensure successful placements.

EFFECT ON END RESULTS:

* Program participants receive appropriate, high-quality services to assist them in achieving their vocational goals.

* Program is appropriately and successfully marketed.

* Network of employment sources is established and maintained.

* Program resource lists are comprehensive, up to date, and helpful to program participants.

* Program participants are well-prepared for employment and receive adequate post-placement support.

* Client case records are accurate and thorough.

* Program participants receive access to appropriate internship and job-training opportunities.
