Job Description Issue Management Team Project Manager

Seeking Project Manager with knowledge of banking compliance, particularly BSA/AML and Sanctions compliance, to project manage workstreams within the BSA/AML and Sanctions compliance project and support internal and external governance reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and development of strategic project plans to strengthen the compliance framework partnering with Compliance, Technology, Risk and Controls, Internal Audit and senior management
  • Support the development of issue remediation target dates that are reasonable and agreed to by the accountable and responsible persons Develop project management procedures including defined criteria for completion rates status and report ratings (e.g., Red, Amber, Green, “RAG”)
  • Develop and implement issue management processes and templates
  • Project manage workstreams within the BSA/AML and Sanctions compliance enhancement project
  • Organize regular meetings with key stakeholders to support status updates, identify challenges and develop resolution plans
  • Identify resource needs and support efforts to obtain additional resources, including people and systems
  • Organize task completion attestation process and ensure the documentation repository has complete and accurate data, information, and documentation to generate accurate reporting on the status of all issues
  • Manage and maintain the repository for completed tasks, supporting documentation and reporting
  • Organize internal audit validation reviews of completed tasks and associated tracking
  • Manage project status tracking and reporting
  • Prepare and support the preparation of materials for regular and ad hoc governance, committee and other management meetings related to the remediation project as required
  • Participate in and minute critical meetings in the issue management process, including minutes of internal committee meetings


Required Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional Certification
  • 10+ years’ experience with projects involving:
    • Process re-design and/or development of governance frameworks, project management reporting processes
    • Fast turnaround and tight timelines


  • Experience developing or working with an issue management system

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels

  • Experience organizing and leading meetings, including remotely



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in bank compliance, controls, internal audit or risk management
