Business Unit Overview:

GSO Capital Partners LP is the global credit investment platform of Blackstone. With approximately $138 billion of assets under management, GSO is one of the largest alternative managers in the world focused on the leveraged-finance, or non-investment grade related, marketplace. GSO seeks to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns in its business by investing in a broad array of strategies including mezzanine debt, distressed investing, leveraged loans and other special-situation strategies. Its funds are major providers of credit for small and middle-market companies and they also advance rescue financing to help distressed companies.

Job Title: Associate/Assistant Vice President

Job Description:

GSO is one of the world's largest credit-oriented alternative asset managers, with a focus on delivering superior risk-adjusted returns and capital preservation for our clients. The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:

* Developing reporting tools for profit and loss, IRR and multiple calculations

* Developing controls around performance analytics and other accounting data

* Developing best-in-class performance reports to meet internal and external needs

* Calculating and tracking fund level IRR and MOIC returns on a gross and net basis

* Levered and unlevered returns

* Gross fund and asset level returns

* GIPS return reporting for compliant business

* Calculating 1,3,5 year returns metrics

* Calculating total returns and P&L attribution

* Benchmark tracking for both private equity and hedge fund comparison

* Working directly with Portfolio Analysts on performance related requests

* Partnering with Investor Relations, Business Development/BD and Accounting teams on LP deliverables and DDQ requests

* Developing automated and streamlined workflows

* Preparing and reviewing materials for GSO fundraising, LP reporting, SEC reporting; Form PF, AIFMD

* Successfully delivering reports by understanding GSO's complex investment process, markets invested in, financial instruments used and reporting processes.

* Training and developing future team members


Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. The successful candidate should (have):

* Bachelors in Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or similar discipline are a plus, but not required.

* 5-8 years of experience

* Private Equity Fund accounting experience required

* Understanding of credit product, valuations, and risk management concepts a plus

* Credit and senior bank debt experience a plus

* Product control or accounting background a plus

* Understanding NAV and GP/LP waterfall calculations a plus

* Ability to establish controls around financial data used in regulatory filings

* Strong analytical skills and detail oriented

* Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects

* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

* Strong attention to detail and highly organized

* A strong work ethic and a positive attitude
