The Wing is seeking a focused and high energy General Manager to oversee one of our NYC locations, leading the operations, events, and community for that Space. Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, this person will work collaboratively with HQ to execute all initiatives in alignment with the Company’s mission, values, and revenue goals. This GM will develop and grow a team of managers and part-time staff, as well as support the vision and drive the direction of the Space.

Leading with a strong sense of community and hospitality, our General Manager will be responsible for all activities related to the success of The Wing in their location.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee hiring and onboarding for all part-time staff by delegating to other full-time staff members and completing final round interviews; ensure that onboarding protocols are followed
  • Conduct weekly team meetings to review events, community initiatives, food prep, and all other Space happenings; regularly & effectively communicate with all part-time staff
  • Coach, mentor, and develop BOH Managers, a Community Manager and an Event Manager; conduct weekly 1:1 growth and development meetings with each to check progress
  • Work with Director of Community to drive membership happiness and retention with an understanding of membership goals
  • Setting and enforcing expectations for brand standards and company policies through leading by example and delivering regular, direct feedback
  • Working with HQ to roll out policies, procedures, standards; executing the vision of the space while building team morale and culture
  • Create and manage part-time staff schedule in collaboration with Assistant Managers
  • Drive Space team culture through staff meetings and outings for both part-time and full-time staff
  • Oversee all ordering of supplies, inventory, and waste tracking
  • Communicate all vendor needs to Operations team in collaboration with the Culinary Director and Facilities Manager as needed
  • Drive the business, effectively planning and executing revenue goals, managing labor and supply budgets, monthly corporate credit card reconciliation, and manage all invoices and location P&Ls independently
  • Manage space aesthetics in accordance with Brand Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensure an excellent experience for all members, prospective members, and guests while in the Space; model and exemplify hospitality excellence at all times

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hospitality management experience
  • F&B experience (FOH, kitchen, etc.) is ideal
  • Ability to be in the Space 5 days/week, flexible with schedule as it may shift or change to support events in The Space (including weekends)
  • Experience managing + developing large teams of hourly employees
  • Extensive hospitality background and training
  • Planning, technical skills
  • Financial acumen
  • Regulatory, safety and compliance
  • Understanding of Rewarding & Motivating techniques and best practices
  • Strengths in delegating and directing
  • Event logistics experience
