Position Overview

Maximize revenue and customer satisfaction through effective client management and delivering upsell opportunities


  • Manage the NPD Book relationship for a group of major publisher accounts, ensuring that revenue targets are met through effective client servicing, including providing ongoing training and support to clients as required
  • Proactively identify, develop and deliver upsell opportunities with existing clients
  • Grow the NPD/client relationship through expanding contacts, engaging with more senior leaders, promoting the use of NPD data and tools, and identifying and responding to client needs
  • Create and deliver presentations to clients, industry events or internally as required, which highlight the value of NPD Book products and data
  • Support colleagues in delivering new and more valuable solutions to clients, to drive revenue growth
  • Increase and develop client awareness and appetite for the broader range of NPD services, including Solutions, Checkout and data from other sectors
  • Maintain client information effectively using Salesforce and other tools to support the management and attainment of targets


  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience
  • Strong sales and client management skills
  • Commercial acumen – negotiating skills, ability to apply different approaches to different clients to maximize results
  • Analytical skills – able to use tools such as Excel to analyze data, identify trends, draw conclusions and build a narrative from the numbers
  • Presentation skills – able to use tools such as PowerPoint to present data and information in an engaging way, and able to deliver insights to varied audiences
  • Communication skills – strong written and verbal communication skills; able to become an authoritative voice on NPD Book's products and data
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to manage and prioritize multiple ongoing tasks
  • Familiarity with, or interest in, the evolving publishing industry, and the ability to connect NPD Book products and data to new and emerging trends in the book trade
