Desktop Engineer

Volt has partnered with a global hedge fund in search of a Desktop Engineer in New York, NY. This is a long term position with our client. Please review the job description and requirements below, and apply today if you are interested.

1. Receive, inventory, and unbox laptops

2. Kick off SCCM task sequence to build laptops

3. Work with SSE to identify users to be provisioned (weekly schedule)

4. Provision laptop to each user and update asset management portal

5. Provision laptop accessories to each user (Survey users in advance)

6. Coordinate with SSE on reclaiming deployed desktops when installing laptops

7. Answer user questions about laptops and accessories

8. Assist user in installing any applications needed by user (if not already installed on laptop) via System Center

9. Provide (proscribed) recommendations to users on how best to use and help with setup, such as customizing power settings

10. Work with user to install laptop, docking station, and accessories at user’s desk, in many cases, replacing existing miniPC or small tower (survey or consult with department head)

11. Inventory and store any replaced hardware
