Deposit Operations and Support Representative

An exciting position is available at America's Socially Responsible Bank! Amalgamated Bank is seeking a Deposit Operations and Support Representative to provide quality assurance for deposit accounts and services using account opening documentation and system generated control reports to ensure compliance to standard operating policies, procedures and guidelines.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Jumbo Certificate of Deposits (CD), Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service (CDARS) and Insured Cash Sweep (ICS) Investments - set up new customer/account relationship, process funding & disbursement transactions, review and validate related control reports and annual interest income statements.
  2. IRA
    1. Track and process standing instructions for pre-scheduled Required Minimum Distributions.
    2. Validate annual tax reporting records and correct reportable tax data where necessary.
    3. Provide support to branch network on IRA related issues.
  1. New Account Review
    1. Review the quality of scanned account opening documentation ensuring clarity and appropriate indexing.
    2. Review account opening documentation to ensure completion of all required data.
    3. Validate the data entry of customer and account information.
    4. Document issues and discrepancies in QA database and distribute daily reports to the appropriate business units.
    5. Research and follow up on outstanding issues, inquiries or documents to ensure timely completion and resolution.
    6. Set up combined statement relationship for eligible accounts.
  1. Account Maintenance and Control Report Review
    1. Review system generated reports against supporting documentation for accuracy.
    2. Review iAcquire and Horizon 360 control reports and take action to correct exception items as necessary.
    3. Document issues and discrepancies in QA database and distribute daily reports to the appropriate business units.
    4. Research and follow up on outstanding issues, inquiries or documents to ensure timely completion and resolution.
  1. Perform daily proof and reconciliation for Remote and Deposit Automated Teller Machine cash activities, Savings Bonds redeemed and AMEX Travelers Checks sold.
  1. Perform quality assurance on W-9 Certifications to correct or update invalid/missing and administer the Bank’s Tax Certification process for B-Notices and W-8’s.
  1. Conduct periodic testing to validate Horizon system scrub on OFAC updates.
  1. Perform various account file maintenance, online transaction entries and system upgrade validation.
  2. Participate in Disaster Recovery testing at offsite location, as needed.
  3. Back up other Bank Operation functions as needed and perform various related tasks as directed by manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  4. Strong detail oriented skills.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is $41,500.00 - $49,500.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
