Central Sterile Technician - Full Time Temporary

Responsible for sterilization and decontamination support to theOperating Room. Using appropriatemethods, will decontaminate all surgical instrumentation, equipment, andsupplies. Operates all decontaminationequipment (washers, ultrasonic unit, etc.). Will inspect and assemble all surgical instruments, equipment, andsupplies. Uses the appropriate packagingmethods in preparation of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies forsterilization. Identifies and packagesall items to be gas sterilized. Operatessterilization units (pre-vac units, flash units, sterrad, etc.). Sterilizes instrument sets and other reusablesupplies and equipment. Performs therequired quality assurance checks on sterilization units (Biological, BowieDick Tests, etc). Maintains records ofquality assurance checks with sterilization records. Interprets sterilization graphs/printouts andother indicators. Transports sterilizedsupplies to appropriate storage areas and restocks shelves. Must possess knowledge of all supplies and equipmentmaintained by the department. Distributes supplies to nursing care units and other departments asrequired. Must check expiration datesand package integrity before storage and distribution. May be required to perform other duties asrequired. High school diploma orequivalent required. Two years'experience and must be IAHCSMM certified. Must have excellent communication skills and follow written and verbalinstructions.
