Business Analyst - Sales & CRM Technology

Job Purpose:

As a Distribution Business Analyst, you will work on tactical and strategic projects as a member of our Client Insights and Analytics (CIA) team. You will partner with developers and other technology team members to build and track solutions and interact with our sales teams to identify business challenges.

You will serve as the bridge between the business and technology. This role will require a combination of business knowledge, technical expertise, and a client-centric approach. To achieve success, you will liaise with developer teams, sales teams, and sales service/support functions to gather requirements, maintain timelines, and coordinate across other CIA functions.

Responsibilities & Deliverables:

* Serve as Salesforce admin, performing tasks including front end configuration and report generation

* Coordinate cross-functional projects between sales and developers

* Ensure alignment between development efforts and business goals

* Provide project level analysis – produce required project analysis documentation (requirements, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, etc.)

* Articulate the business vision and digital strategy to various internal technology departments, and help drive the direction of Distribution technology overall

* Collaborate with other full time BA's and program leads

Identify business challenges and translate business requirements into project stories

* Help sales leaders define their technology strategy while ensuring alignment with overall enterprise goals

* Prioritize and manage requests from business partners on a regular basis

* Handle ad-hoc operational questions and resolve issues from stakeholders


* Represent a business perspective on agile teams

* Work closely with product owners, delivery managers and technical analysts

* Facilitate process analysis and design ideas

* Collaborate on the solution as a team member

* Define and describes business rules and process flows

* Question and challenges business processes

* Revise and improve business processes


* Handle on-going customization/alteration of Salesforce

* Create and maintain fields, views, reports, dashboards, campaigns and other Salesforce objects and functions

* Create new reporting capabilities and respond to ad hoc reporting requests as needed

* Grant/ remove and maintain user licenses

* Help with training to existing or new users/groups

* Be prolific in both Salesforce Classic and Lightning

* Exposure to Salesforce Trailhead

Key Requirements:

* Bachelors and/or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, finance or a related field

* 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst

* Experience working in Financial Services and/or Asset Management

* Experience with Salesforce Admin tools

* Strong background in cross-functional project management

* Excellent organizational, documentation, and presentation skills

* A strong collaborator and team-player

* Experience working in an environment which employs the Agile methodology

* Familiarity with JIRA

* Advanced understanding of MS applications with focus presentation (Visio, Word, PowerPoint) and project planning (MS Project or similar)

* Strong communication skills
