Associate Director of Operations

The Associate Director of Operations Manager is responsible for the delivery of services to residents within the policies and guidelines of Volunteers of America. He/She is responsible for the overall operations of the program/facility including the supervision of direct care personnel including recreational staff as well as the supervision of assigned departments including food services, linen and supply and transportation. He/She may also be assigned to supervise other ancillary staff. Provide on call support, supervision and/or facility oversight 24 hour/7 days per week. Provide and ensure program coverage.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The position requires a bachelor's degree in the human services field and three years supervisory experience in a residential setting.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Manage program personnel.

2. Manage assigned departments for quality, consistency and policy compliance

3. Design and/or implement new programs/procedures aimed to enhance clients' engagement, motivation, satisfaction and individual outcomes

4. Manage department fiscal operations

5. Supervise safety and incident management system including security personnel if applicable.

6. Supervise delivery of program services including intake, bed assignment, data collection, provision of concrete services etc.

7. Inspect facilities and report deficiencies

8. Manage community and governmental relations.

9. Perform other related tasks as assigned.

EFFECT ON END RESULTS:

1. Qualified personnel are recruited, trained and retained.

2. Program clients are provided with high quality services; programs operate with consistent staff coverage and services; departments adhere to agency, funder and program policies; departments adhere to applicable laws and regulations

3. Procedures/operations/programs are developed and/or implemented in line with the program's goals and objectives; successful program and client outcomes

4. Department operates within approved budgets.

5. Program facilities are safe and incident reporting is accurate and timely

6. Clients receive services according to established procedures; statistical reports have positive outcomes

7. Strong collaborative relationship with the facility maintenance department; facilities are maintained at or above standards

8. Positive relations are maintained with communities where programs are located, with local governments and with funding and licensing agencies.

9. Related tasks are performed accurately and on time.
