POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Planner supports the merchandising process by managing, maintaining and allocating inventory levels to ensure stock is directed to the stores at the right volumes and times to optimize profitability. The Assistant Planner collaborates and partners closely with the Buying, Planning and Distribution Center teams to ensure that all partners are equipped with analysis that guides merchandising decisions annually and throughout the season.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Responsible for optimizing Store level inventories

* Communicate assortment and planning opportunities to buyer(s) and planners(s)

* Accountable for initial allocations as well as subsequent fill ins

* Responsibility for weekly allocation flow planning tool including updates, review and publication

* Conducts store level analysis on the performance of Size, Color, Brand, and choice count

* Tracks allocations from the distribution center to stores and facilitates store-to-store transfers as business needs may require

* Responsible for replenishment allocation (DC to Store)

* Applies allocation methods (e.g. JDA, like-item history, trend history versus class plan, etc.) and strategies (e.g. hold and flow) as determined by planner(s) and buyer(s)

* Escalate and troubleshoot store inventory issues

Minimum Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

* Strong math, problem solving and analytical skills

* Proven JDA Allocation experience in Methods, Models and Auto Allocation

* Strong communication skills

* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills / formula writing

* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on cross functional teams

* Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize and adapt to fast-paced, dynamic business environment

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

* BA/BS

* 1-2 years of related experience in apparel
