Position Purpose:

Provide technical leadership for CTEC Tissue Manufacturing process development and optimization by influencing the application of technology within the corporation, encouraging the acquisition or development of new technology and by leading programs within the Family Care Product Supply Regenerate & Improve (R&I) team to achieve business results.

Customers:

Family Care Product Supply, Research & Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Market Research, External Consultants and Research Organizations, Vendors direct and through Sourcing and Supply Management.

Expectations and Accountabilities:

Provide leadership by example in corporate safety, quality, regulatory, product safety and sustainability. Ensure that all elements of the corporate Human Resources Development and Diversity policy are fully supported as appropriate for the position. Manage self in accordance with the expected One KC Behaviors, utilize LEAN principles in the development and management of work and drive change within the organization as a role model of Culture of Accountability. Protect and defend K-C proprietary technology, products, and business processes through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets. Conceive, develop, validate, share and teach ideas leading to new or improved products, processes, materials, systems or basic scientific knowledge as appropriate to the business unit and peer Mills. Locate existing, internal or external, or novel technology solutions for process and product needs 3 – 5 years from commercialization that enable realization of business unit strategies. Recommend strategies to protect novel technology solutions to sustain identified advantage in market. Maintain technical and scientific expertise in an area of technology and communicate impact of developments on Kimberly-Clark. Coach and teach team members (PDC, AO, Operations, Maintenance) to increase technical understanding and effective communication of technical accomplishments and to promote growth of leadership qualities. Prepare and implement unit budgets and schedules. Implement appropriate internal controls and standards. Implement the documentation and report of unit work as required by KC policy, effective communication, protection of proprietary information, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Communicate appropriately with all customers, conducting all communications and transactions with the utmost integrity and honesty so as to build an unimpeachable business reputation.

Scope:

Incumbent reports to the Mill Engineering Senior Manager New Milford Mill. He/she provides technical leadership to the New Milford CTEC Tissue Manufacturing and Converting Operation, including the PDC and AO teams, as well as working collaboratively with R&E and peer Mills in a manner that demonstrates constructive influence across organizational boundaries. He/she leads the development of technical elements for business plans and objectives. He/she facilitates employee development and innovation to identify, develop, and evaluate new product, process or material concepts. A major challenge of this position is to provide vision to ensure Family Care programs and resources focus on current and future business needs to achieve CTEC Tissue Manufacturing and Converting capacity liberation objectives. He/she provides protection to technologies and products through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets.

Qualifications/Education/Experience Required/Work Conditions:

Normally requires a Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering or related discipline and 15 - 20 years industrial experience or another equivalent combination of education and experience with a solid background of technical knowledge and experience combined with a demonstrated track record in leading and directing a technical team and projects that successfully meet business objectives. Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members for career development and performance improvement.

Important Skills/Competencies:

* A strong Process Engineering / Process Technical expert level background is required for this position.

* Subject matter expert in Family Care papermaking and converting manufacturing technologies, products, processes and materials, direct experience with CTEC Tissue Manufacturing operation and/or process development preferred

* Ability to effectively influence across all levels and functions in the organization
