Position Summary:

Mechanical Engineers at Kimberly-Clark initiate, design, develop, optimize and problem solve manufacturing processes in a manner that meets safety, quality, and operational performance expectations. The Mechanical Engineer for this role will provide leadership and creativity in design, development, optimization and problem solving for tissue manufacturing and tissue converting. Candidates must have expertise across multiple technologies and will have a demonstrated ability to effectively provide specific project work direction to a broad range of team members. The incumbent reports to an Engineering Team leader and receives direction in the form of general project objectives.


* Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development, and optimization of manufacturing, converting, and supporting processes, and support day to day operations to meet unit objectives.

* Lead multiple expense and capital projects, to improve process reliability, safety, overall operational performance, and to support cost transformation objectives

* Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management.

* Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.

* Identify complex technical issues and provide necessary solutions to eliminate root cause.

* Assist in the development of others within the area of expertise.


* Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology degree from an accredited college or university.

* Requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Specific, in depth technical knowledge and expertise in tissue manufacturing and converting processes.

* Up to 15 years of experience in a variety of plant and staff assignments, including maintenance and operations.

* Familiarity with machine startups.

* Experience working with external technical service providers.
