POSITION PURPOSE:

Provide leadership in mill Safety by developing and executing safety improvement plans, by managing the mill safety systems and reporting activities, and by serving as the subject matter expert for internal and external safety regulations and safety practices.

Mill Manager, Team Leaders, Asset Leaders, Mill operations team

Customer Expectations:

* Serve as safety subject matter expert

* Develop and execute safety improvement plans

* Establish sustainable safety processes and systems

* Insure adherence to all applicable internal and external safety regulatory requirements

* Assist assets in thorough investigations and accurate documentation all significant safety related incidents

SCOPE:

This position reports to the Mill Manager. This person provides subject matter expertise and technical direction to all mill teams and provides leadership and coordination of all mill safety processes and systems. This person will be expected to coordinate and align activities with sector peers and leaders. The Site Safety Coordinator is responsible to ensure that the facility EHS Management System is established, implemented and maintained and for reporting to facility leadership on the performance of the EHS Management System for review, including recommendations to improve, facilitate and manage the facility EHS Management System.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Typically a bachelor's degree or equivalent and ten years of experience. Considerable knowledge of the industrial safety practices, systems, and regulations. Capable of initiating and managing projects in a team setting.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Specific responsibilities include:

* Providing EHS technical and regulatory advice to facility leadership, the EHS Steering Committee, etc.

* Analyzing EHS data and providing insights regarding results and trends and making improvement recommendations.

* Auditing facility EHS performance and making improvement recommendations.

* Assisting with EHS Management System operation, maintenance and administration

* Ensuring that business activities support the facility EHS policy and the K-C Corporate OS&H and Environmental policies.

* Operating the EH&S area in full compliance with local EHS legislation and codes.

* Identifying EHS aspects and hazards and managing them to acceptable levels of risk or impact.

* Reporting, investigating and promptly addressing substandard acts and conditions.

* Driving the setting of EHS objectives and evaluating the effectiveness of the facility EHS Management System.
