Position Summary:

Currently, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the CTEC TM and Converting PDC and AO Engineering teams in New Milford, CT. The primary role of the Senior Mill Engineering Manager is to lead and develop a cross-discipline team of approximately 10-25 engineers to address daily safety, productivity, cost and quality issues to meet unit objectives and establishes continuous improvement plans to address chronic longer term issues and advance the capability of the assets. A major challenge of this position is to provide vision to ensure Family Care programs and resources focus on current and future business needs. The individual will report to the New Milford Mill Manager.

Key customers:

Technical Community, Sector Management, Staff Engineering, Portfolio Leaders, Mill Leadership, and Mill Asset Teams.


* Ensures safety of people, processes, and equipment are at the forefront of all work

* Leads and supports safety programs and processes to ensuring all team members are adequately trained and in compliance with statutory and corporate requirements to provide a safe work place for all employees, site contractors and visitors.

* Leads the overall human resource strategy to engage and enable team members to contribute to their full potential through coaching, training, succession planning/career development and performance management.

* Shared ownership for the output of assigned assets – safety, productivity, quality and cost.

* Provides technical expertise to minimize risk exposure using the safety tools (SMOC, STS, etc…) and other technical resources

* Drives improvement in speed, waste and delay per asset objectives.

* Ensure conformance to FPS, review results and initiates programs to reduce variability to meet quality scorecard metrics.

* Identify cost savings opportunities and manage expense spending to unit budget limits.

* Establishes a strong collaborative relationship with the AO Technical Strategist, R&E LCM Process teams, and department Asset Leaders to ensure the development and execution of continuous improvement plans to address chronic longer term issues and advance the capability of the assets.

* Supports executing the Sector portfolio initiatives defined by the Family Care Sector Governance Process.

* Supports execution of the Sector and Mill Reliability Strategy / Status A3.

* Executes capital projects using the Project Workflow Map (reference Capital Execution elements).

* Efficiently and effectively deploys internal and external engineering resources to accomplish project objectives.

* Ensures application of Corporate Policies and Code of Conduct by providing operating management direction, support and adherence to the applicable internal control procedures.

* Reinforces and leads the execution of standards, standard work and OPEX processes.

* Champions One Technical Community initiatives, processes and mindset.

Basic Qualifications:

* Requires a Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering or related discipline

* A minimum of 10 years industrial experience, and a minimum of 2 years in an Engineering Manager role.

* Incumbent is normally experienced in a variety of mill and staff assignments.

* Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members for career development and performance improvement.

* Ability to effectively influence across all levels and functions in the organization.

* Experience leading capital projects, adhering to Kimberly Clark's capital execution practices, standards, and CFI's
