Lead Product Scientist - Class II Medical Devices

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently looking for a Grade 10 Experienced Lead Product Scientist for our FDA regulated Class II Medical Device Team. The role is responsible for leading product development for tampons and other Class II product forms and will focus on product renovations and innovations in the early explore space (2-7 years from commercialization). This role reports to the Class II Medical Device R&E Senior Manager. The role is located in Neenah Wisconsin.

KEY CUSTOMERS:

Research Scientists, Product Developers, Innovation Teams, Supply Chain, Marketing, Production Facilities, Legal, Regulatory, Procurement, Mill Teams, and Corporate Quality

SCOPE:

The role typically requires work on 1-3 projects at one time depending on complexity. Key deliverables include but are not limited to, concept development and refinement, developing product learning plans, product optimization, defining product use testing / success criteria, test method development, all while considering process and production requirements. Although not required, Class II medical device proficiency is preferred. Team member will work as part of a larger cross functional team.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCED REQUIRED:

* Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or advanced degree in related major scientific or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 3 years of experience (5-10+ yrs. preferred) in a variety of technical or scientific assignments.

* Demonstrated leadership skills providing work direction to a multi-functional team including internal and external resources.

* Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge through training and mentorship.

* Must be able to work independently and progress with limited instruction and also as part of a larger cross functional team.

* Must be able to travel up to 20% if needed, including some international travel.

* Ability to complete work within established timeframes

PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Regulatory experience with FDA Class I or Class II Medical devices.

* Strong knowledge in the consumer goods product development cycles

* Ability to flow between initial product development stages through commercialization

* Concept development and/or Claims experience

* Experience with Process Validation, Design Control and Risk Management.

* Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
