Job Description

Engineers with the Central Stores team provide a critical connection between the Manufacturing, Engineering and Suppliers to ensure the continuity and cost effectiveness of machine spare parts across all businesses within Kimberly Clark. The engineer for this role will provide support in facilitating the core mission of the Central Stores Team to protect manufacturing productivity and reliability while optimizing the value of the corporate wide spare parts inventory.

Candidates must have familiarity with high speed manufacturing processes, a demonstrated ability at problem solving and strong communication skills. The candidate must also have the ability to act independently as well as working in a collaborative manner with local and remote team members. The incumbent reports to the Central Stores Manager and receives direction in the form of general project objectives.

Some occasional travel, primarily to our North American manufacturing facilities and/or equipment or technical service providers, is anticipated as part of the role.

Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with manufacturing and staff engineering functions to:

* make recommendations of appropriate stocking levels of spare parts

* identify alternative solutions for spare parts to: replace obsolete parts, reduce cost, improve reliability and/or optimize inventory

* Responsible, as part of the team, for management of Central Store spare parts inventory.

* Participate in the development of others within the area of the incumbent's expertise, including the creation and delivery of training materials

* Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and functional leadership in application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, problem solving and project management while providing advice and counsel to others.

* Seek, recognize, define and solve complex technical issues to root cause to achieve Central Stores objectives.

* Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, LEAN principles, and project management.

* Manage multiple projects and/or objectives within the Central Stores organization, by taking ownership and drive to achieve intended results.

* Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop and deliver equipment and processes that meet safety requirements, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance and other personnel.

Qualifications:

* A Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering or demonstrated experience in a related field

* Requires a minimum of 1-3 years engineering experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments in a high-speed consumer product manufacturing, maintenance and/or staff environment.

* A demonstrated ability to perform in cross-functional teams to achieve objectives within required timeframes.

* In depth technical knowledge and expertise in high-speed manufacturing and/or web converting equipment.

* Experience of mill manufacturing, staff engineering, capital project, maintenance or asset support.

* Experience working with external technical service providers, parts/equipment suppliers.

* Evidence of continuing self-development.

* A demonstrated ability to lead small cross-functional projects to achieve intended results within required timeframes.

* Familiarity with KC systems including DRCS & SAP

* Strong analytical skills
