Job Description

The Communications Coordinator provides administrative support and coordinates the communications strategy implementation of Kimberly-Clark's North America communications programs. As directed, executes communications programs and materials, visual strategy and creative design (stories, messages, presentations, social media, events, news releases, videos etc.). Provides communications operations support to the Kimberly-Clark North America communications team. Leverages knowledge of communications and employee mindset to advise and assist the team's decision-making. Individual contributor who works under the direction of the Director of Communications for the business.


Key customers for this position are: Director of Communications; Senior Communications Manager; C-Suite Leaders and their direct reports; Senior Leaders in each business unit; and Regional/Corporate Communications team members. These customers expect aligned and sound communications strategy, counsel and advice, and exceptional tactical execution.

Scope/Organizational Relationships:

As a communications team member, this individual works under the direction of the Director of Communications to lead in some cases, develop, provide input and implement communications strategies in support of the business priorities.

He or she is responsible for supporting business strategies that:

* Engage key stakeholders both internally and externally

* Support messaging to drive alignment around key business priorities

* Strengthen the One K-C Culture

He or she must exercise considerable discretion with regard to information communicated and is expected to handle serious and sensitive subjects with tact, excellent judgment and confidentiality. He or she will encounter a variety of complex problems in the role, and therefore must be able to manage expectations of key customers/stakeholders who have conflicting inputs and differing needs, and deliver effective communications.

Principal Accountabilities:

Communications Operations

* Creates content for communications tools, including but not limited to, business quarterly updates, intranet, news releases and social media

* Leads the day-to-day operations and administrative support to the communications team including standard work, distribution lists, budget tracking, calendar for deploying planned communications

* Identifies, maintains and evaluates communications channels and tools to ensure their effectiveness (key stakeholder enablement, engagement and understanding) and leverages outcome to influence future communications execution and strategy

* Tracks, develops and monitors mechanisms to measure results

* Partners with agencies to provide graphic design needs

* Oversees Neenah office site communications

* Schedules and coordinates quarterly business team leader town hall/calls

* Handles recording, production planning and editing of videos

* Updates and manages Kimberly-Clark North America Sharepoint

* Provides proficient research, writing, editing and proofreading capabilities

* Other KCNA Communications activities as assigned

Brand and Business-Related Activity

* Supports KCNA's key business communications initiatives; brand-led activity through corporate channels; and business and brand-led events. He or she can be expected to create communications strategy and lead the project

* Provides proficient research, writing, editing and proofreading capabilities

* Designs and creates content for employee communications

Communication Delivery

* Develops communications plans and delivers tactical execution to support major programs (communications function and business)

* Works with appropriate levels of leadership as needed to manage the approval process for all communications

* Responsible for ensuring relevance, consistency, integration, alignment, and appropriate timing of messages across the organization

* Translates senior leadership messages into communications that are appropriate for all audiences

Qualifications/Education/Experience Required:

This position requires 3-5 years of experience working in Corporate Communications, Consumer PR and/or Marketing either in-house or agency. The incumbent has a minimum of a bachelor's degree.

He/she must:

* Understanding of traditional media and social media

* Possess these competencies: message creation; channel management; project planning; measurement; outcomes focus; audience understanding; critical thinking; active listening; and interpersonal influence

* Have the ability to partner with various teams to achieve communications goals

* Demonstrate the ability to create internal and external communications plans - identify problem, stakeholders and audiences, key messages, execute plans, measurement

* Demonstrate ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple assignments from conception to completion on deadline
