Sub-Ledger Accountant

The Epic Sub-Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining and documenting processes related to trade general ledger accounts originating in the insurance accounting system. This role will prepare and process journal entries, reconcile balance sheet and revenue accounts, ensure audit compliance, and work special projects as they relate to GL matters. Knowledge of revenue recognition and the ability to analyze data using excel spreadsheets are critical components of the job.

The Role

* Reconcile production reports to the trial balance

* Accurate settlement of interagency transactions including movement of cash

* Document and maintain processes pertaining to the Epic sub-ledger group

* Process and document appropriate journal entries

* Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the EPIC system as needed

* Validate various SQL scripts in test databases & production

* Meet time-driven deadlines in regards to interagency reporting and month end documentation

* Work closely with various disciplines to clear any balance sheet discrepancies

* Communicate system defects to IT Services & appropriate personnel within the NAC

* Clearly communicate process short comings impacting the General Ledger or GL Outages with management

* Prepare ad hoc reporting & reconciliations for divestitures for both internal and external parties

* Clear GL Outages and prepare monthly metrics for senior management

* Responsible for Epic Month-end Close process

* Work ad hoc ledger projects as needed

* Process mid‐term policy changes as requested

* Research and compile answers to client/contractor's policy and coverage questions

* Coordinate response with Sr. Client Services Specialist/Account Executive/Client Advocate

* Assist with follow‐up on carrier issues

* Assist in resolving any carrier discrepancies

* Coordination & review of audits with carriers

* Some travel may be required

* Other duties as assigned
