Security Engineering is responsible for innovating, designing and implementing enterprise information security technology, standards and architecture. This includes: host based security and hardening; cloud security and surveillance; security services, e.g. DMZ, remote access, network security, multifactor authentication, scanning services, log management systems, and security monitoring/systems. In addition to providing senior management with technology recommendations based on established security policies and business requirements.

IT Job Description:

This is a hands-on position which requires a person with a great deal of system management experience together with a thorough understanding of various technology principles. The role must proactively collaborate with IT and SBUs to imbed cyber threat detection, prevention and best practices into our enterprise technology, core platforms and business systems.

As well as providing vulnerability analysis of our core components, providing leadership and prioritization for our services regarding vulnerability patching and suggesting workarounds and temporary solutions to mitigate urgent cases. This role is a member of our 24x7 on call incident response team, which ensures rapid response of incidents, limiting potential damage and executes forensic analysis as require.

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Drive strategy, determine the roadmap for new features, capabilities and advanced architectures including setting the standards for design, implementation, operation and monitoring/management. Weekend and weeknight work should be expected to ensure that any implementation work does not interfere with the operation of the production environment.

* Manage multiple security projects and infrastructure across multiple platforms; networks, firewalls, proxies, public cloud and/or applied security technologies

* Make recommendations on strategic planning, financial planning, administration and management of the department

* Deploy and maintain new security technologies designed to offset current and anticipated security risks

* Assist the Chief Security Officer (CSO) office in performing security reviews, assessments, and/or forensic investigations

* Develop standards and procedures supporting department and corporate policies and operating guidelines

* Work effectively with other departments to analyze business and functional requirements; determine security impact and design security solution with assistance from your peer groups

* Manage staff resources, set objectives, distribute work assignments, adjust workloads based on changing requirements, and communicate and promote departmental strategy

* Provide technical support related to the enterprise security infrastructure. The candidate will join a team of professionals to design, engineer, plan, implement, and support security solutions globally.

* Provide management with direction and recommendations based on established policy and business requirements as well as collaborate with peer groups to identify scope and implementation approach to a project

* Ensure compliance of Audit requirements by proactively educating team and integrating compliance requirements into our project life cycle

* Actively participate in the day-to-day technical tasks as well as participate in the monthly on-call rotation

* Provide 24x7x365 on call support of our global internet point-of-presence security infrastructure

Job Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related subject; an advanced degree is preferred. In addition to 10+ years' experience designing and managing large, complex infrastructure. The position requires strong leadership and team-building skills, and must be able to collaborate effectively with a group of high performing individuals.

Qualifications & Skills Required

* Extensive knowledge of information security principles, theories and concepts, plus advanced knowledge of current systems, networks, or specialized security technologies.

* Hands-on experience in designing, engineering, and implementing internet facing infrastructure and defining security strategies, such as:

o Firewalls and Firewall Management Technology

o Data Loss Protection

o Remote Access Technology

o NAC Technology

o Web and FTP Proxy Technology

o DNS/DHCP

o Load Balancing (Local and Global)

* In-depth understanding of TCP/IP

* Knowledge of data networking, with experience with routing protocols, e.g. BGP, EIGRP, OSFP

* Experience in scripting (shell, perl, or any other scripting language)

* Experience with solutions to secure AWS and Azure as an enterprise implementation

* Strong analytical skills, demonstrable curiosity in quantitative research and analysis

* Excellent communication skills and be comfortable working closely with senior business partners, including advance presentation skills

* Candidate must be a self-starter, a dependable partner, as well as a team player

* A strong desire to document and share work done to aid in long term support of our infrastructure

* Knowledge of all components of a technical architecture, e.g. O/S kernels, network, SAN…

* Ability to build efficient internal relationships and communicate extensively with key internal stakeholders

* Experience to lead and manage senior technical individual contributors

* Ability to provide functional and strategic guidance to staff and recommend policy or strategic direction changes to management

* Ability to drive consistent and repeatable results

* Ability to provide overall technical project planning for product enhancements
