Job summary

With the movement behind Amazon’s new Leadership Principle, “Strive to be Earth’s Best Employer,” the global campaigns team has grown exponentially over the last year as we continue to pioneer new ways of reaching Operations employees in various languages and locales, motivate managers to become leaders, focus on the topics that really matter to our audience, and deliver stories that inspire mobility and teamwork. As such, we are seeking a high-judgement and self-motivated professional to be part of this fast-paced team to help us engage with Operations employees where they are – in Amazon facilities across the globe, support functional communications, and manage projects and programs into global implementation.

Key job responsibilities

As a member of this team, this individual must think like an architect: be able to convey vision and procedures through strong writing skills, pay attention to all of the details, be able to build new communications plans and messaging from the ground up with scalable solutions, use mechanisms and adopt efficiencies, and then share the blueprints with other communications practitioners for further development. The specialist role will support functional employer policy communications, be able to jump in to help with reactive issues, contribute to longform narrative storytelling, and build bridges with partner teams, such as those who engage associates in community outreach and philanthropic giving.

Some travel can be expected but not required for this role.

A day in the life

In this role, the specialist would be part of a close-knit team that comprise creative thinkers, tenured Amazonians, and former public affairs professionals. Outside of the campaigns team, this person will engage frequently with internal stakeholders within the larger Operations Internal Communications and the Operations Community Engagement organization; various teams within Human Resources (or PXT), Finance, Operations, PR, and Legal; and other support organizations.

About the team

The global campaigns team is primarily based in the US, from Seattle to SoCal to Nashville to DC. Some of us are long-time Amazonians with a deep understanding of Amazon Operations and some of us are fairly new to Amazon with backgrounds in political and marketing campaigns. Our north star is to provide concise, clear, and compelling communications on important topics, such as safety, wellness, compensation, COVID-19 policies, benefits, company mission, and diversity, among others.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

3-5+ years of communications and program management experience

Preffered Qualifications

Strong organizational skills and ability to move quickly, independently, and with high-judgement

Internal communications experience with logistics, operations, or retail

Experience in working with design agencies, writing internal newsletters, editing documents, and compiling recap reports

A deep appreciation for simple solutions to complex problems

A team-player who is constantly working to best communicate with its internal customers
