Senior Service Provider Analyst

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Risk and Regulatory Affairs, the Risk Analyst is accountable to support the business unit in maintaining effective processes and systems of internal control. The Analyst is responsible for assisting in documenting and maintaining processes and controls in two area(s): 1) First line of defense supplier management/ third party risk management 2). Business unit compliance to bank policies and corporate standards in order to minimize loss/ risk and ensure all compliance requirements are met. The Analyst will also contribute to plans and projects which provide clear, concise insights on possible issues in order to assist management in maintaining compliance with its responsibilities.

This role contributes to the sustainability of strong internal risk management practice by maintaining a high performance culture, embedding the "T&O Risk Dimensions" in the conduct of the role. This role meets objectives within a twelve-month time horizon.

Specific Responsibilities:

Proactively manage assigned governance responsibilities, identify risks and continuous improvement.

* Be aware of and understand the applicable regulatory requirements arising from the unit's activities and accountabilities; Assist in providing guidance to management to ensure effective risk and control processes and practices are in compliance with bank and regulatory requirements

* Establish positive working relationships internally to ensure an understanding of bank policies, standards, strategies, tactics, objectives and initiatives.

* Support SRM business unit preparation for internal and/or external audits, exams, and/or assessments.

* As required, provide input to the development of internal business unit audit plans and monitoring and testing plans

* Execute assigned audit, monitoring and testing activities for the business unit.

Providing fair and balanced insights into current, emerging and potential issues, trends and opportunities that will enhance efficiency and effectiveness of management and enable control processes.

* Provide assistance in interpreting the impacts of business changes and/or regulatory changes on controls and effective operational risk and regulatory management of the business unit.

* Assist in development and/or implementation of remediation plans that provide a fair and balanced assessment.

* Seek guidance from management in order to ensure good judgement in audit remediation support activities as well as application of control monitoring and testing procedures.

* Develop and maintain good working relations with peers within business unit and other internal business partners to enhance insights.

* Provide timely support to Sr. Management

Help to drive positive change in the business unit based upon high quality work, thoughtful in its preparation and direction.

* Maintain a working knowledge of key trends in the industry in order to assist in the development of new strategies and tactical plans and opportunities.

* Ensure that all audit, monitoring, and testing procedures executed are consistent and conducted to the high standards set forth by the business unit.

* Apply sound judgement in the execution of the assigned work.

* Ensure open and effective lines of communication are maintained within the business unit and other internal business partners.

* Conduct various projects as may be assigned by Sr. Management.

Become knowledgeable about our business; gain an understanding the internal and external third party risk management and supplier management discipline, thinking about the efficiency and effectiveness of our control processes.

* Stay abreast of general industry trends and regulatory developments with the potential to impact the SRM Operating Group and also suppliers managed by business unit.

* Maintain regular communication with Sr. Manager concerning work progress and operate within authority for the role.

* Demonstrate high quality work; Be a positive role model for others;

* Continue to advance the capabilities of business unit by coordinating internal / external training opportunities as advised by Sr. Management.

Continually advance the professional practice of the business unit.

* Be seen as knowledgeable within the assigned ongoing governance controls specific to the business unit's compliance with Bank policies and corporate standards.

* Be seen as a knowledgeable person in supplier management/ third party risk management, keeping current on new thinking/practices.

* Provide the Sr. Manager with input on process recommendations and improvements and potential gaps in control environment.

* Assist in advancing the business unit's overall supplier management practices ensuring the high quality level expected of a strong internal control practice.

* Share knowledge of best practice processes with SRM staff

* Become proficient in the use of tools available to enhance risk, regulatory oversight and productivity of the role's overall responsibilities.

Knowledge

* Undergraduate degree or equivalent with 2-3 years of direct relevant experience in discipline of third party risk management/ audit/risk management/ compliance functions.

* Prior experience in internal risk management/first line of defense is highly desirable

* Knowledge of risk management, compliance, audit internal controls monitoring and testing is desirable.

* Preferred Skills

* Excellent interpersonal skills and influencing skills: be confident, proven record of good judgement. Possess a flexible approach, the ability to identify risks.

* Proven ability to work effectively in a team

* Strong organizational and planning skills

* Able to plan their work at least several months ahead

* Able to manage and plan projects; required to manage multiple projects at one time and deliver according to management timelines.

* Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision

* Mental skills required in areas of reading and interpretation of data, language, analytical, investigative, very strong verbal and written communication, exceptional attention to detail, multiple project tasking.
