This position is responsible for analyzing, executing pricing strategies, and quoting based on ongoing collaboration with sales team. Responsible for determining price based on tactical market intelligence, division wide pricing strategies, optimal source locations, and customer credit information. Monitors customer profitability and activity to provide sales management with account allocation recommendations. Makes or influences management decisions on the areas pricing and final quotes on major projects. Assists in identifying growth opportunities.


* Project Analyst for the Tennessee market. Responsible for determining price (material and cartage) based on tactical market intelligence and division pricing strategy. Provides initial price recommendation to Sales Reps.

* Responsible for monitoring and tracking online Construction Bid Services for market activity.

* Facilitate communication between multiple business line teams including: Aggregates, Hot Mixed Asphalt, Construction, and Logistics

* For all IDOT lettings, performs initial competitive analysis, quantity take-offs and provides initial price recommendations to Sales.

* Develops and maintains weekly / monthly metrics for the Sales Service Center.

* Generates reports and maps for Sales to facilitate quote follow-up

* Participates in Business Unit meetings as assigned

* Provides additional market data, competitive and qualified leads to sales group

* Focus on future growth, process improvements, gaining market share and building the business.

Education, Experience, Skills Required


* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.


* 5 years experience in implementing pricing strategies, construction estimating, and market analysis in the aggregate or construction industry. Other equivalent work experience will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Excellent oral communication skills with the ability to interface with many different audiences

* Strong Relationship Building, Business, and Problem Solving and Decision Making skills

* Applied knowledge of construction techniques is essential. An understanding of Vulcan and competitor products, applications, specifications, capabilities, pricing strategy and methods of shipment is required.

* Construction estimating experience desired

* Capable of working independently with minimal supervision

* Good business sense, negotiating skills, self-confident, sound judgment, resourceful, politically savvy and proactive are required.

* Basic shipping and logistics knowledge
