Sr Network Engineer

BlueJeans is hiring a Senior Network Engineer who has strong networking experience and can scale our internal network for rapid growth. The internal IT team provides continuous access to cloud apps as well as many other services for users globally. Working with security, network operations, and compliance teams you'll focus on global design, maintenance, and overall ownership of the internal network.


* Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems or outages and scheduling upgrades.

* Identify and isolate technical issues and propose mitigation and/or improvement strategies.

* Assist with planning for disaster recovery and redundancy initiatives

* Work with the onsite lab technician team and facilitate knowledge sharing by creating and maintaining detailed and comprehensive documentation such as procedures and diagrams for: installing new hardware, recover non-responsive devices, protocol training (G.8032, L2, Vlan, etc), server maintenance, hardware maintenance, etc

* Become a technical resource for tier 2/3 escalation issues.


* BS or MS in Computer Science (or related) with at least 6 years of relevant experience required

* Proven ability to move large scale conceptual designs into production

* Good knowledge of next generation data networking technologies

* Proven leadership and project management ability

* Expert knowledge of network design and administration in mission critical environments

* Requires strong working knowledge of Juniper routers, switches, firewalls and common network protocols (Cisco a plus)

* Strong wireless networking design and maintenance experience (Aruba a plus)

* Strong working knowledge of Palo Alto firewall and Panorama management applications

* Hands-on experience with BGP and OSPF

* General Linux administration skills (Shell or Perl)

* Relevant experience with network management tools and utilities (Nagios, Cacti)

* Strong working knowledge of video protocols such as H323, SIP, and setting up Video Vlans

* WAN circuits and protocols (VPLS, MPLS, DWDM, DMVPN, Optimization)

* Knowledge of circuit procurement processes and vendor management
