Position Summary:

The Distribution Lead provides work direction, policy and procedure compliance and ensures safety of the facility and operators. The Distribution Lead coordinates the storage, transportation and delivery of materials. The Distribution Lead is responsible for inbound and outbound, including both domestic and international materials, ensuring inventory and customer order accuracy. The Distribution Lead demands a robust customer service mindset with a high level of multitasking skills. The Distribution Lead requires organization, attention to detail, and strong leadership skills. This position reports to the Distribution Supervisor.

Essential Job Functions:

* Provides instruction and guidance to the Distribution Department regarding proper and safe working procedures.

* Monitors work in progress to assure the meeting of quality standards.

* Required to facilitate and support all departmental training / cross training needs to support site requirements.

* Work with customer service to facilitate and investigate customer orders or discrepancies.

* Work with purchasing to ensure inbound POs are accurate and investigate issues

* Provides guidance, training and instruction on picking, packing, shipping, receiving, put away, loading and unloading

* Communicates necessary information to operators in the area of Company policies, procedures and safety as directed by the Distribution Supervisor.

* Provides feedback regularly to the Distribution Supervisor on employee performance.

* Ensures that the facility and its contents are safe and secure at all times.

* Monitors and reports any workplace injuries, near misses or potential safety hazards.

* Reviews orders for to ensure methods and requests are met.

* Verifies inventory accuracy as required.

* Hand carries, uses cart, or may operate forklifts to move, pick or put away parts

* Performs daily cycle counts.

* Attends required Company training.

* Advises supervisor of conduct that may violate rules, policies, and procedures.

* Responsible for leading 6s activities on the floor

* Investigate and resolve inventory issues within the department, i.e. back orders.

* Assist Distribution Supervisor foster and maintain a positive and productive environment focusing on continuous improvement and best practices.

* Other duties as assigned.

* 2 years of distribution experience

* Experience as a lead preferred

* 1 year powered industrial truck experience

* Must be able to work effectively under deadlines and delegate responsibilities

* Experience with MS Word and MS Excel

* Experience with LTL, Air & Ocean Shipments both domestic and international

* Must be able to work well in a team environment and display a sense of urgency in serving the customer

* Oracle experience preferred

Education and Certification Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent education or experience

Physical Requirements: (To be met with or without accommodations)

* Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

* Stand 10 hours a day

* Good manual dexterity

* Eye hand coordination and attention to detail

* Ability to bend, twist and turn
