Job Overview

The Labor Relation Specialist provides day to day counsel and support to Management to ensure consistent application and interpretation of Daimler Trucks personnel policies, the collective bargaining agreement, and state labor requirements.

Responsibilities

* Act as liaison and counsel for employees and Management to assist with Human Resource related issues and to promote good working relationships, consistency and high morale.

* Provide day to day counsel and support to Management to ensure consistent application and interpretation of Daimler Trucks personnel policies, the collective bargaining agreement, and state labor requirements.

* Interpret and administer company EEO, AAP and FMLA programs. Conduct training, collect data and perform plant reporting as required. Participate in handling of employee EEO/AAP and FMLA concerns,

* Administer new employee orientation.

* Administer the Plant Retirement Program.

* Administer the shop bid system, job transfers, layoff and recall of employees consistent with labor agreement requirements.

* Coordinate manpower movement (ramp up/layoff) to ensure correct labor loading to meet production requirements.

* Administer the Plant drug and alcohol programs and monitor the last chance agreements.

* Administer grievances through the Third Step.

* Administer disciplinary action for Work Rule violations and Attendance Control Policy.

* Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience OR an associate's degree with 4 years of related experience OR 8 years of related experience required

* At least 1 year of group leader, project lead, or mentoring experience required

* Previous HR experience is preferred

* Previous experience working in a union environment is required

* Must be available to work shift

* An attached resume is required

This is a second shift position.
