The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Supplier Quality Specialist to support, monitor and measure suppliers and vendors ensuring supplier compliance to Xylem Supplier Quality Requirements and Expectations

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

* Execute duties per the Supplier Quality Audit and Performance program.

* Support release of suppliers and associated parts and products.

* Assess and develop suppliers ensuring compliance to supplier quality management program.

* Deploy and support part qualification program through FAI, ISIR, and PPAP.

* Support part and product transfers, new supplier on board, and supplier process change management

* Issue and follow up on supplier corrective actions.

* Support supplier rating and metrics.

* Enable supplier quality and delivery improvements.

* Support activities to maintain Quality System registration.

* Coach and Lead receiving inspection personnel and develop inspection and test plans

Key Relationships:

* External: Sourcing, Global Sourcing, Source Inspection, Suppliers, Vendors

* Internal: Purchasing, Receiving, Quality, Production

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

* Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or related field required

* Minimum 3-5 years' experience in Quality with emphasis on quality principles and methods desired.

* Comprehensive knowledge of particular areas of expertise required including Supplier Quality System Assessments/Auditing, Quality System auditing, problem solving and CI core tools FMEA, PPAP, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

* ASQ certified Green Belt preferred

* ASQ certified Quality Engineer preferred

* Machine shop / heavy industrial experience

* Safety training preferred, OSHA 30 hour training a plus

Physical Demands

* Physical requirements include: good vision and hearing; ability to stand and walk, lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently; stoop, crouch, kneel reach for and handle items, pick, pinch or otherwise work with the fingers and use the fingertips to perceive attributes of objects such as size, shape and surface finish.
